Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller
Born : 1793Died : 1865
He briefly studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna; a record states that he attended classes there from 1807.
His documented oeuvre covers a variety of subjects: alongside scenes of everyday peasant life is, for example, The Actor Maximilian Korn in a Landscape, dated 1828 and listed by the Art Institute of Chicago among his works. The portrait of Pauline von Boschan, née Mayer-Gunthof, dated 1847, is a signed and dated oil on canvas; it measures 36.5 × 30 cm. According to a label on the reverse, this portrait was reportedly presented at a Waldmüller exhibition in Salzburg in 1953.
