Pietro Uberti was a Venetian portrait painter active during the first half of the eighteenth century. His work belongs to the representation of patrician families and senior officials of the Republic. Portraits associated with the Querini family and likenesses of procurators of Saint Mark demonstrate the role of his painting in shaping both family and civic memory.
His compositions also circulated through printmaking. The Istituto Centrale per la Grafica preserves prints after his designs: Francesco Soranzo engraved by Alessandro Dalla Via, Carlo Pisani by Marco Alvise Pitteri, and Doge Alvise Pisani by Giovanni Antonio Faldoni. At the Museo Correr, a portrait of the bailo Giovanni Emo, Venice’s ambassador to Constantinople, is attributed to him. These records place Uberti within the artistic and political networks of eighteenth-century Venice.
