Croatian naïve painter Ivan Rabuzin (1921–2008) is placed in this movement by one source as early as 1946. Born in Ključ on 27 March 1921, he died in Varaždin on 18 December 2008. He worked as a carpenter until 1956; his formal artistic training is described as minimal. His first exhibition is reported to have been a success, and he became a professional painter in 1962.
The paintings mentioned include Avenue and Ma terre natale. Another work, Landschaft mit Blume und Sonne, is listed under the name Ivan Rabuzin and described as a watercolour measuring 43 × 60 cm. In the 1970s, he also worked in the field of design: he decorated a series of porcelain dinner services designed by Timo Sarpaneva for the German manufacturer Rosenthal.
From 1993 to 1999, he was a member of the Croatian parliament during its second and third assemblies.
