Olle Bærtling

Olle Bærtling (1911–1981), a Swedish painter and sculptor who also worked in textile art, worked in several media. The von Bartha gallery describes his works as producing a pronounced optical effect and giving the impression of extending beyond the two-dimensional surface of the canvas.
In the 1950s, the Tabard atelier wove one of his cartoons as an Aubusson tapestry. A retrospective of Bærtling was presented at von Bartha in Basel from 30 January to 26 March 2016.
