Dardo Gattelli
Figurative landscape painting
Dardo Gattelli is documented in auction catalogues through oil landscapes, particularly views of Lake Lugano. Lakeside villages, boats and mountain slopes recur in these scenes.
A view of Gandria with Monte San Salvatore offered in Germany features broad brushwork and thickly applied paint. Wotton Auction Rooms also records a lake view with trees and a boat under this name. These works reflect an interest in the landscapes of Ticino and life along their shores.
The works by Dardo Gattelli presented by Swiss Art Gallery extend this artistic journey and take their place naturally within this corpus.
